This morning a director I work with randomly sent me a link the music video for the Charlotte Gainsbourg + Beck song “Heaven Can Wait”.  He told me he wanted the commercial he was working on to look just like this video. I can see why he did that.  It’s not because of Charlotte’s unfathomable beauty.  It’s not because every frame of the video feels like a gorgeous, exquisitely lit large format portrait.  It’s not because of the mad genius at work here creating a slightly off-axis life that’s like Wes Anderson without the annoying twee-ness. That’s not why this is a great video. This is a great video because my friend Terry is the guy in the fucking horse mask.
